Candle Care Guide
Candles can transform any space into a cozy haven, and taking care of them properly can enhance your enjoyment and prolong their life. Whether you’re lighting a candle for a special occasion or simply to unwind after a long day, following some simple care tips can make all the difference.
First and foremost, always trim the wick before lighting your candle.
- A wick that is too long can cause uneven burning and excessive soot.
- Aim for a wick length of about 1/4 inch.
- This small step can help ensure a clean and steady flame, allowing you to fully appreciate the enchanting scents that fill your space.
Your first burn sets the tone for every burn that follows. Allow the wax to melt fully across the surface, from edge to edge. This Creates an even wax pool and prevents tunneling, ensuring your candle delivers its full fragrance and burn time.
We would recommend allowing at least 2-3 hours for this initial burn. This is long enough for the surface to become smooth and luminous.
Always place your candle on a stable, heat safe surface away from drafts, children, and pets. Allow the flame to burn gently. It should flicker softly, not dance or smoke. If a flame becomes too high, extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.
We recommend for best results, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
Each Wax Chateau candle is designed to be as enjoyable as it is functional. Once your candle has fully burned, the vessel may be cleaned and reused.
